Have you ever wondered why— as followers of Jesus Christ, we experience pain like everyone else? Aren’t we believers who cling onto Jesus every day, so why then must we undergo all the pain and suffering like a non-believer?
While it’s true that we go through trials, afflictions and temptations like everyone else on Earth does, Christians are different in the way that we know who we belong to. We know who we side with—on the good side with Jesus and we avoid the bad side with the Enemy. We know the difference.
We are reborn individuals. We are born again through the power of the Holy Ghost. We have died to sin and continue to do so every day. Christians carry their cross every day and that means we don’t give in to the peer pressure of the world but we are following the example of our Lord Jesus.
We are a beautiful creation of God and Jesus was sent by God to save us from ourselves. Jesus saved us from our sins 2,000 years ago when we were yet to be born. On that rugged cross, He bore our shame and our transgressions. God thought of us even though we come from a sinful generational line. He has always loved us. He made a way to reach for us. Thank the Lord today!
1 Peter 1:23 NIV: ‘For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.’
