"Choosing God's Armor over the World's"-L.J.Santa Cruz
Align yourself with the Lord’s people. His servants will surely prosper by wearing the full armor of God. In Ephesians 6:10-11, 13, 18 (ESV) we find these verses:
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints
But what is the whole armor of God?
- 1. Take Up the Shield of Faith…Extinguish All the Flaming Darts of the Evil One (Ephesians 6:16)
*Kick Satan and His demons back into Hell by rebuking them out of your life.
2nd Book of Timothy 4:2 (ESV) says, “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
Mark 8:33 (ESV) tells us: “But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, ‘Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.’”
2. Put on the Breastplate of Righteousness (Ephesians 6:14)
*Pray over people that are possessed and by power of prayer they will be healed in Jesus’ name!
Looking into the Book of Matthew 10:8 (ESV) we have this important verse, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.”
1 John 4:4 (ESV) says, “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.“
3. As Shoes for Your Feet, Put on the Readiness Given by the Gospel of Peace (Ephesians 6:15)
*We have the God-given authority to trample over the snake, therefore His attack toward us believers will not prosper.
1 Peter 5:8 (ESV) we find it says this teaching, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
Matthew 10:28 (ESV) states this verse for all believers, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
4. Fasten on the Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14)
*Be strong in your faith and in truth. Don’t let Lucifer intimidate you.
We read this verse found in John 16:33 (ESV) that says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Ephesians 6:12 (ESV) foretells, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
5. Take the Helmet of Salvation (Ephesians 6:17)
*Your mindset needs to shift from the fear zone to the trusting zone. Fear Satan not and trust God with all.
Take a look at 1 John 5:19 (ESV) it says, “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”
Romans 8:9 (ESV) boldly tells us all, “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
6. Take Up the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17)
* This is the Word of God, Scripture, the Holy Bible. Use it to speak the Gospel to all.
James 4:7 (ESV) Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
1Peter 5:10 (ESV) And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
In summary, we learned that it is vital to take up the full armour of God. Imperative because we fight evil forces of the darkness every single day. For this reason, take up the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, and have your feet prepared with the gospel of peace, and last but certainly not least, carry with you the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God everywhere you go.
Duty calls. Will you be answering? If so, be ready for anything, stay alert, and place your trust in Jesus Christ our Lord. God has given us this righteous gift of armor to wear and to defend ourselves from all evil. This is your one and only true weapon given to you by God Himself. You need not any other form of weapon. Dependency in God is true faith, but the one who uses earthly weapons relies in themselves and not in God.
Activate your faith by believing in Jesus with all the fibers of your being and go out there, into the world, wearing the full body armor of our Good God. Stand tall and boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to all, for all believers are called up to unite in church and exercise in faith our beliefs to the gloom of today’s world. May God bless you and all of your family!
