Fire Up Your Heart!

Are you burdened with guilt, consumed by the world, and just can’t stop living a sinful lifestyle? If this resonates with you, read on. Do you feel like there should be more to life than just your day to day work and sleep schedule? If you feel this way, this is for you. Have you been feeling something is missing in your life but just don’t know what the missing puzzle is? Well, I’m glad you’re reading this right now because I want to share something with you.

It might be your soul telling you that you aren’t feeding it properly. Just like our body needs nourishment, so does our soul. And where do we search in order to feed our spirit, you may wonder? Look no further than God’s promises in the Bible. Holy is the Lord. He gives you renewed source of life. Serve Him gladly from the depths of your heart. Hope in Him and be glad. Have some patience when life is not going well and you feel like all is lost. Give it time and wait on God to show up and He will. Just keep praying and never stop because God is right there with you. So be truly faithful to Him and pray day and night every day, stay in connection to the Lord. Have a good relationship with God and obey what He is telling you. Romans puts it in this context.

“Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord. 12 When you hope, be joyful. When you suffer, be patient. When you pray, be faithful. Share with God’s people who are in need. Welcome others into your homes.”

Romans 12:11-13 (New International Reader’s Version: NIRV)

There is no need to feel sad, depressed, tired and worn out with no energy, no need to drink alcohol to get by, no need to do drugs to cope, no need to plan all sorts of evil, because you will have God to pull you through it all. When you have God, none of this will hold you down and you will be a completely new person. When you are set free from the Devil’s chains, by Jesus’ blood, you are redeemed and no longer a slave to Satan. Glory to God in the Highest!

As a result of your thankfulness to the Lord, you will most definitely want to get on fire for God and remind yourself of this verse in The Book of Romans. Write it on your heart and wear it on your sleeve. Share it with others wherever you go. Pray to God daily. Meditate on God’s Word and rest in Him. Make sure to serve others as well and stay close to other believers of Jesus. This is crucial to your spiritual growth, so find a close-knit group of friends to count on when you feel the need to talk to someone.

Now, time to take more action and start sharing the gospel to everyone who still doesn’t accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Once you do all of this and start helping others turn to the light, you won’t want to look back to your past life when you used to smoke, drink, swear, steal, cheat, and lie. Now, you will have a center focal point–Jesus! You won’t have desire to stay in toxic relationships that never included God to begin with. You won’t want darkness at all when you know the light. All has been erased and now you are reborn through faith with the brightest fire of the Holy Spirit! A-men. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord for His grace and for His mercies!!

You need to stay close to God and feel His presence, otherwise, evil will sweep you away and blow out the flame. The best way to do this is to turn off all other secular music and nonsense that is not good for your soul. Don’t be that plastic bag in the wind wandering off wherever the wind will take it. Don’t just listen to the radio that will play just any random song of the world. They are filled with all sorts of evil because they were born in evil. Those type of lyrics are not feeding your soul anything good. Alternatively, surrender yourself to God and listen to lyrics that were born out of love for God. There are countless Christian artists who sing for God. Be the one that stands firm and believe in Jesus and only listen to what is good for you. Love yourself that much and give no time to the things of this world. All the world’s music will not fill you; you will feel despair and still confused with life.

Your spirit needs to be fed in order to keep the flame alive. You might not know that but it does; just as a candle needs the proper glass, the wax, and the soul of the candle, which is the wick, so do you need the right environment for you to thrive. You are the wick in this analogy and you need the right environment for you to be able to be lit and be on fire for God.

And to feed your soul, you need to read God’s word and listen to Christian music which glorifies our Lord and Savior Jesus. Think of it like this: the Bible is your food because it is wholesome for your soul and Christian music is your drink because out of it are streams of good words, and good lyrics are good for your soul. They are like water falling on you like a shower, as a waterfall, endlessly. This then, more importantly, leads it’s way back to Jesus is the bread of life and his blood is the drink.

I hope this helps you to visualize the importance of what it means to read the Bible every day and hear Christian music as well. Remaining on fire means to have your heart set on God and do not waver. Lastly, I leave you with a simple song from Jesus Culture called “Set A Fire” that will get you inspired, feeling alive in God. So, let this music quench your thirst and let the Word of God fill you up with gladness. Share this with someone you love if this has blessed your life.

Honoring Jesus,
