Do you have 20 Minutes for God?

Somehow, we all find ourselves too busy to pay attention to what really matters in this life. But take notice that we only have this one life to live, tomorrow isn’t certain. Yet, so many of us never reach our full potential because we can’t see beyond our problems, beyond our own self gratification.

There are so many people pleasing their own flesh, glorifying themselves in selfies, indulging in fornication and drugs, all the while, neglecting the One who gave them life. God is waiting for you to repent of what you are doing. There is no long-term satisfaction to any of those desires. Turn to the Lord and receive knowledge and wisdom if you reach your hands out for Him.

In this parable of the prodigal son, or the lost son Jesus spoke of, we learn that God will always accept us back with the goodness of His heart. He loves us just like a father loves his son and He receives us when we go to Him no matter what. He will never turn us away.

Luke 15:11-24 (NIV)

The Parable of the Lost Son

1Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.

1“Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

Jesus loves you and is elated when you repent of your sin and go to Him on your knees in humble prayer. We have 24 hours in a day, enough time to kneel before God and thank Him for a beautiful day He has made, a chance to bring new change. Be refreshed in Him today and make a change in your life. There’s never a right time, so start right now. God is good and he forgives every sinner and welcomes them in.

Bible Parable and How it Relates to You or Someone You Know Today

You are not alone in this. Having faith, while the world doesn’t is hard enough, but we have each other and in God we trust. Always be praying and praising God. Do diligent work that purposefully serve others with all you can give to help see them grow. God loves us all and wants us to work together as a unified body of Christ Jesus, so let’s make it happen. Let’s see what change you can do today that could bring you a domino effect of great days ahead.

Either hear a Christian song on Spotify or Pandora that will be good to your ears. Take care of your spirit by feeding it well and hear a pastor preach the word in person or on YouTube, such as the above video which goes over this parable. You could always attend a church to stay close to other believers in Christ and to communicate your faith.

But, let’s not be done with God because He is not done with you. Don’t just run back to the Father, in repentance, then next day, go about your sin once more. Erase it from your life. God is with you, therefore you can do it. It isn’t impossible for you because nothing is impossible for the Lord who reigns in Heaven and has ultimate love and consuming power.

He is capable of ridding the sin you most deal with. Only He knows how, so don’t wait. God is waiting for you. Run to the arms of Jesus and receive that beautiful hug. Be no more that prodigal son/daughter you have been and instead of turning your back on God, stay with Him. He will never turn His back on you.

May God bless you!

Sincerely,

L.J. Santa Cruz
